About the Author


John McCrory founded and was Executive Director of Big Apple Garbage Sentinel during its publication, which ended in March 2000.

He first became involved in the issue of waste management and recycling when he researched the subject in his graduate work at the Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment at Pratt Institute.

He has also researched and written on the subjects of subsidies for sports franchises, big-box retail development in urban neighborhoods, and the prospects and problems faced by industrial manufacturers in urban areas. A selection of his writings is maintained on the website, PAUSE.
